Separating protective devices are used to mechanically separate people from machines or systems in order to prevent accidents and hazardous situations. They are safety devices within the meaning of the Machinery Directive. The dimensioning of the partitions as well as the type and functionality of the fastening elements are subject to legal regulations and are described in standards. General information about access security
Danger point and access guarding solutions are used on machines that pose a risk to operators. They take effect even before a human enters a hazardous situation. The sensors send safety-relevant signals to the control system. If a human approaches a defined danger point during operation, the signals change and the machine stops operation. There are many options for safeguarding danger points and access, ranging from safety curtains to safety edges and step mats to safety relays.

Hazardous area and access guarding are activated before a human enters a hazardous area. They are used on equipment that could endanger operators. To prevent accidents, the sensors send safety-related signals to the control system. If a human approaches the defined danger area, the signals change and the system stops operation.
