General information about different types of gears
Planetary gearheads have the highest permissible continuous torques of all gearheads. They have a compact design with low weight and show high efficiency. The gear components are available in different materials. Worm gear units achieve the highest running smoothness. Therefore, many applications require a gear shaft angled at 90 degrees to the motor shaft. Worm gear units are also optionally available with a hollow shaft. Right-angle gearboxes (so-called Spirotec gearboxes) are gearboxes with right-angled output, they are also characterized by high running smoothness.
