Schmachtl is a full-range supplier in the field of safety, with the safety controller being the heart of every automation application. A safety controller is first and foremost a programmable logic controller with special design elements with regard to inputs, processing and outputs in order to be able to guarantee the required level of safety and availability when used in safety-critical systems. Safety controllers can be wired, programmed and commissioned by our customers through experienced personnel as well as by Schmachtl. Which regulations and standards or which performance level must the customer's application meet? According to the requirements, a suitable product is to be used. Safe Operation Stop (SOS) - monitoring standstill when the motor is active
Safely-Limited Acceleration (SLA) - monitoring when an acceleration limit is exceeded
Safely-Limited Speed (SLS) - monitoring a speed limit
Safely- Limited Torque (SLT) - Monitoring of a torque / force limit
Safely-Limited Position (SLP) - Monitoring of exceeding a position limit
Safe Emergency Limit (SEL) - Safe monitoring of the minimum and maximum position, resp. of the allowed
position range. Optional monitoring of the speed/position limit curve
to minimize the worst-case overtravel.

In addition to the classic functions, Schmachtl offers know-how in the field of safe motion monitoring. Conventional safety controls are limited to logic processing or reduced word processing of data. Safe drive monitoring, as required by the European Machinery Directive, is difficult to implement. By means of safety functions integrated in the firmware for drive monitoring, these tasks can be implemented quickly and efficiently.
