General about single filters

Single filters are the basic model of filter technology. As with the switchable double or automatic filters, various screen element designs with the different filter media can be installed in the single filters. Single filters are used wherever interruption of the media flow during cleaning is acceptable.

General about automatic filters

Automatic filters are equipped with cylindrical elements or fabric or split cartridges. These are cleaned automatically by backwashing without interrupting operation. This can be done as a function of differential pressure or time by filtered or compressed air-assisted intrinsic medium. Automatic filters are used when manual cleaning becomes uneconomical in the case of continuous contamination, or when the operating plant is largely automated.

General about double filters

Double filters consist of two filter housings - connected via a switchover fitting. While one filter half is being cleaned, the other filter half is running in normal operation. In duplex filters, the changeover from one filter chamber to the other takes place without pressure surges. Afterwards, the soiled screen insert is cleaned manually while the plant continues to run. The simultaneous shutdown of both filter chambers is excluded by the design of the double filter.

General information about oil mist separators

Oil mist separators prevent oil leakage from seals of large plain bearings, crank gears or gearboxes. Oil mist extractors are another design of these filter systems. These can extract emulsion mist from machine tools. The oil mist is prevented from escaping by suctioning off the machine parts and creating a slight vacuum. The oil/air mixture is separated back into oil and air in the oil mist separator. Lubricating oil is recovered and air is released back into the environment.
